Blue Album

I don’t post much original content anymore. That’s pretty sad and lazy, right? I sure think so. It’s so easy to be brain dead and reblog post after post. It’s a wonderful way to wind down after work. Well, that and Netflix. And eating salami. I did submit a post over at Shotgun Reviews, and you can read it here.  My coworker created the site, and I’m lucky to have been able to submit something. I’ve met and networked with so many amazing people over the years I’ve gotten active on the Internet. I’ve always been a fan of sharing books and movies, but I feel in the past four years I’ve been really able to share knowledge. My lunchtable discussions at work have shown me that there is so much that I have yet to see, and I almost feel like I’ve been too scared to admit that.
After watching SLC Punk recently, I do feel like the person I used to be would hate the person I am now, but not because she was embarrassed. I don’t feel like I’ve changed to unrecognizable proportions, I still claim that the song “Brown Eyed Girl” is annoying, but not so secretly would probably be flattered if that song meant something to someone. I don’t have weird hair, I don’t wear flamboyant clothes, I’ve settled in to being me. When I was 18, all I wanted to do was move into downtown Chicago, or Bucktown, or the Ukrainian Village. Why? I had no plans for work, or how I’d get around. I wanted to go to punk shows. I’ve realized that it’s not places that hold magic, most places are the same no matter how many buildings, expressways, or hot dogs stands there are. It’s about making the most of yourself wherever you are. Think back to all of those times you wanted to pick up and get out. If you don’t have a plan, you might as well be perpetually in the suburbs in your childhood room calling your mom to make you a sandwich. (You know moms love to mom you and make sandwiches. They always make them the tastiest way possible.)
I’m 2 minutes away from making it through my first full 25 year old day. I’m ready to cut the crap and be realistic, for once. Remember when I was going to be in a girl punk band? Remember when going to Art School sounded like the coolest idea in the world? Yeah, me too. I’ve realized that there is really nothing I can’t handle if I plan. I’m not a perpetual teenage dirtbag. I worked really hard to not only get a piece of paper that says I could wake up and attend enough classes to pass, but that I strived to learn some things while I was educating myself in the middle of a corn field. (There is more than corn in Indiana, but it surrounds everything, ps.) Saying that you would go back to high school for a do-over means that you learned something. I can laugh at my mistakes now, because I learned from them.
In the past four years, I’ve met the most talented, interesting people, and I hope to continue this. Thanks for helping me grow as a person.

Baggy Update

My Baggy
So by now I'm sure everyone knows that my old roommate Katie stole my cat, Bagheera. Well he lives in Oregon now with one of her really lame friends. I found this picture of him on Facebook, and its exciting to see that he's all big now. I miss him, and I would imagine that he and Mulder would be good friends. I want to get another black cat one day.

I guess its for the better that I don't have anything to remind me about my life in Lafayette. I keep having really weird dreams about I don't like it. Its like I'm just kicking myself for putting up with bullshit for so long. I'm embarrassed that I dated someone like that. EMBARRASSED. I've never said anything like that before. I'm still good friends with Ryan, and was always cool with Tim after we broke up, but golly gee, I have so many negative waves towards Eric. I think that it makes me look dumb to have put up with that for so long. And there's no way I will ever by eloquent enough to truly express how I feel. Embarrassed is a diet word for what I really feel. Ashamed? Unlucky? 20 and extremely dumb? A waste of 2 years? I'll never know.

I just can't thank my lucky stars enough for Mark. He's pretty perfect in every way. I've seen or talked to him everyday since February 18th, and still going strong. I trust him, he does nice things, and probably the greatest thing is that he doesn't have a terrible reputation. He's just the right person for me, and I can't believe it took me 22 years to find him.

Condessions of a Complete Inconsiderate: A Dating History

I heard a song this morning by a band, of which I personally know the girl who is married to the lead singer. (Side note that this girl is absolute long blonde hair artistic perfection). They've been together for YEARS, since at least 2003. I can't imagine having the maturity to be with someone since that young. In 2003, I had still not had a boyfriend. And with all of the winners I've dated, I'm breathing a huge sigh of relief that I'm not with any of them for specifically tailored reasons to each of them. Thinking about who I used to be, I can't imagine why anyone would want to even stay friends with me....and they didn't, I have almost no friends from who I used to be.

I've always been so caught up in my own head, making up things in my own head, and taking on other people's problems to dangerously consuming levels. I guess I've always felt that I wasn't good enough, or too good, or a multitude of reasons why I never was one of those cool girls I looked up to.

I've never put someone else first, and I think its the time to start.

Papercuts

Its absolutely disgusting when you find out the truth sometimes. I can't believe a word that comes out of your mouth.

Basic to Intergalactic Languages Translator

I Googled that once. (The title.)

Lately, I feel like I’ve been caught in a pattern of sleeping too much, listening to music that I never listen to, and looking for meaning in things that have none.

Chalk it up to being alone (which is underrated).

I need someplace to go for spring break. Who knows where I’ll end up. I graduate in May. And I just want to fufill my ultimate dream…working at Lucasfilm in San Francisco.

At least I have two people I can trust..Aub and Ash.

Mine.

I will split your face open if you mess with anyone I care about. This goes mostly to girls who think that they can try to get to me through people I love. Pssssh. Not going to happen ever again.

100th post

Collin and I are having another in-depth life discussion.

"there's only so many chances you can give. second chances are fine. 3rd if you really love them. 4th....you're an idiot."

If I could be like that..

[ music | bling bling - les sheila beat ]

it goes like this:

i don't have any tattoos
my boobs aren't big enough
i can barely remember things
nutrition assessment is dumb
i hate being impulsive
i am completely unorganized
i go in and out through various stages of inadequacy

let's ride off into the sunset.

i am not cool.

i never will be cool.

i was a loser in high school.

what these three statements mean to me is integrated with the fact that 'scenes' scare the shit out of me, and i am glad i was never in one. by focusing on the hardcore scene, i have deduced that it is simply an outlet for angry people to beat each other, while boys and girls have an excuse for the old 'in out, in out.' after living in this small university town for the past four years, it sickens me to see how girls throw themselves at boys who have no future. they fuck them because they have tattoos, gauges, or any other 'unique' quality. that's how a group of girls got gonorrhea at my high school; having sex with one boy because of the way he looked. i feel that girls, our next generation of women, aged 17-22 are throwing their lives away by following these boys. getting bad tattoos to impress these boys. getting pregnant because they listen to these boys. everyone knows how much i do not have respect for sluts, male or female. i don't care if you are a nice person, or have a hookup to a really great concert. you disrespect yourself by going home with someone else every night, cheating on any or all of those people, and subsequently wanting to be friends with them afterwards. i am not a christian. i have no religion. yet, i still have some type of value to uphold. otherwise you end up on the bangbus having sex with strangers on camera. you can't fuck your way to the top. even if you do, i hope you feel empty inside.

our generation is shallow and unorganized. i can't wait to pass some people by on the road of life.
this was a collection of a little part of everything i am feeling right now.
this was typed on a macbook with nine fingers, since i cut the tip off of one of them.

i mean every word i say, when i think you are a poser
