10 Aug

I don't think anyone realizes how much being in Indy is depressing to me. I'm having issues getting out of bed or finding any motivation to do anything but drink and forget that I'm here. So few things have made me happy lately that I've shut a lot of people out. I have a short fuse, and I get upset at the smallest things. I don't even feel like it's worth it to mend friendships that once were more important because all I've learned from my time here is that no matter if you are a loser who had a kid at 18, or you go out and spend all your money on booze every night, having really shitty tattoos, riding a bike with no brakes, and going to the "hip" bars means you're ok and everyone should like you. This place is a brain drain black hole.

Fuck that. Fuck this town.

27 June

Breakfast:
24 oz coffee
8 oz Bolthouse Berry Boost
I actually took my viatmins today: TJs Women's Formula, biotin, Calcium, B complex
Banana (organic)

Lunch:
Spinach salad with chicken, feta, olives, tomato, banana pepper, lemon juice as dressing
CLC

Snack:
Envirokids bar
CLC
Banana

Dinner:
5 oz salmon
1/2 avocado
celery
tomatoes

So I might be allergic to something in the Bolthouse C-Boost juice, or I got a bad batch this time. Every time I had it, I threw up violently. I kept drinking it because the first time I was super hungover. I don't know, it tastes really good, I might give it another try. I'm a sucker for punishment anyway. Working so much is really running me down, and I'm not sure about some of the new staff that has been hired at my pub job. Desk job is the same everyday, and I wish I could work out more. I constantly fidget to try and lose weight. Mistakenly got on the scale last night, and it basically ruined my life. I feel so much thinner, but the number didn't reflect that at all.

26 June

Slacking on updates.

Breakfast:
24 oz coffee
8 oz Bolthouse Berry Boost

Lunch:
Iced Coffee from Sbux, Venti
Sbux Tarragon Chicken Salad sandwich.

Snack:

Dinner:
2 pc salmon nigiri
8 pc California tuna roll

Late night:
1/4 cup rigatoni with pesto
1 mini bagel with sauce and cheese
2 glasses Cab

Starbucks didn't have the protein box yesterday, so I was forced to get a sandwich. Also, as one of my tumblr followers pointed out, I shouldn't be eating entirely gluten free since I haven't been tested yet. I need to continue having antibodies. So I still am eating mostly gluten free,  but am eating gluten sometimes.

Gluten Free Madness: Check In

Gluten free is EXPENSIVE.

I spent about $80 yesterday for a week's worth or groceries. I have to take time to make my risotto tomorrow so I can take that in for lunch. I need to learn how to stretch my groceries instead of getting really excited and eating a plate of one of everything.

Really missing Luna bars and Boca spicy chkn patties. This EnviroKids bar is no substitute, and I love spicy chkn. I feel better sleep-wise even though I slept in until I was almost late this morning just because I was straight-up snuggly in my bed.

Here are some of the changes I am making:

  • EnviroKids instead of Luna for breakfast. EnviroKids does not have a coconut flavor which is obviously a conspiracy against me.
  • 10 oz of Bolthouse smoothie for breakfast in addition to my usual 24 oz of coffee. I would buy a juicer right now but I don't even want to think about bringing more stuff into my possession, since I'm trying to get rid of everything for moving.
  • Quasi Atkins diet action going on. I am going to have to force myself to eat carbs. Really the only carbs I've had in the past month have been saffron rice from Poccadio and tortilla chips like once.
  • Hemp Milk instead of soy milk. It's not as sweet. Trying to stay away from soy.
I really hope I can modify this diet into helping me lose weight as well as making me feel better.

Fuck it, man.

I'm getting out of here.

Monday, June 4, 2012

I have great hair.

Everyone can fuck off.

My new wine glasses are so big they echo.

I am making my dreams come true, and the only person I need to prove that to is me. Friends are amazing, and have shown me more love than anyone. It's nice to have people supporting you, especially when the ones closest to you don't believe you can do anything.

See you in a week, LA.

Merp.

Sometimes I look back on most of the shit I've created and I hate it.

Practice makes perfect, and I need to practice. And hope Mulder doesn't eat my paint.

Motivation

Sometimes I feel like the weekends are made for staying in bed and watching Netflix. I did do that for quite a long time this morning, actually. But getting back to motivation, I watched an episode of Hoarders. It’s disgusting and all, but I am glad that I watched it. It made me clean my apartment so hard. I don’t even really want to go out tonight because I’d like to continue organizing, cleaning, and making the most of this dorm room-like space. Miranda and I went to Target and I re-upped my cleaning supplies. Probably won’t end up going out since saving money is my #1 priority.
I’ve never been a dirty person, I’ve just always had way too much stuff. See: college apartments. Probably going to sort through clothes tonight and get a Goodwill run ready. Girlfriends are welcome to come over and stuff once I tackle this monumental feat. It’s time to downsize some things for sure.
Got two records for $2 at the Exchange, David Bowie Fashion and Paul Revere and the Raiders. David Bowie record pops, I guess that goes into the art project pile. The Paul Revere one is awesome, and has “Not Your Steppin’ Stone” on it, which is one of my personal jams. I took my desktop computer down since it’s fried, and actually have a working desk again. I also organized all of my colored pencils.
Got my “Combat Rock” record out and was given reassurance in how amazing my dad is. It was my first record, given to me in 7th grade. He wanted me to hear “Know Your Rights” while I was having a rough time. That album changed my entire life.
It’s the little things, right?

Blue Album

I don’t post much original content anymore. That’s pretty sad and lazy, right? I sure think so. It’s so easy to be brain dead and reblog post after post. It’s a wonderful way to wind down after work. Well, that and Netflix. And eating salami. I did submit a post over at Shotgun Reviews, and you can read it here.  My coworker created the site, and I’m lucky to have been able to submit something. I’ve met and networked with so many amazing people over the years I’ve gotten active on the Internet. I’ve always been a fan of sharing books and movies, but I feel in the past four years I’ve been really able to share knowledge. My lunchtable discussions at work have shown me that there is so much that I have yet to see, and I almost feel like I’ve been too scared to admit that.
After watching SLC Punk recently, I do feel like the person I used to be would hate the person I am now, but not because she was embarrassed. I don’t feel like I’ve changed to unrecognizable proportions, I still claim that the song “Brown Eyed Girl” is annoying, but not so secretly would probably be flattered if that song meant something to someone. I don’t have weird hair, I don’t wear flamboyant clothes, I’ve settled in to being me. When I was 18, all I wanted to do was move into downtown Chicago, or Bucktown, or the Ukrainian Village. Why? I had no plans for work, or how I’d get around. I wanted to go to punk shows. I’ve realized that it’s not places that hold magic, most places are the same no matter how many buildings, expressways, or hot dogs stands there are. It’s about making the most of yourself wherever you are. Think back to all of those times you wanted to pick up and get out. If you don’t have a plan, you might as well be perpetually in the suburbs in your childhood room calling your mom to make you a sandwich. (You know moms love to mom you and make sandwiches. They always make them the tastiest way possible.)
I’m 2 minutes away from making it through my first full 25 year old day. I’m ready to cut the crap and be realistic, for once. Remember when I was going to be in a girl punk band? Remember when going to Art School sounded like the coolest idea in the world? Yeah, me too. I’ve realized that there is really nothing I can’t handle if I plan. I’m not a perpetual teenage dirtbag. I worked really hard to not only get a piece of paper that says I could wake up and attend enough classes to pass, but that I strived to learn some things while I was educating myself in the middle of a corn field. (There is more than corn in Indiana, but it surrounds everything, ps.) Saying that you would go back to high school for a do-over means that you learned something. I can laugh at my mistakes now, because I learned from them.
In the past four years, I’ve met the most talented, interesting people, and I hope to continue this. Thanks for helping me grow as a person.

I really like this picture. I've lost like 30 pounds and I feel great.

No one reads this blog. Indy has offered me nothing for almost a year now.

Babe Love

Mulder is so active, it's wearing me out! I haven't seen him like this since he was a kitten. He's already lost two pounds and at his perfect weight. I'm so proud of him. I'm so glad Nancy told me to make foil balls, now I just play fetch with him all day.

I went to a wedding with Nikki yesterday and the Rathskellar. I didn't know these people, and I kind of teared up when they were getting married. I felt so lame. Met a lot of cool people, and got to dance a little bit. It's so cold outside, that I almost never want to leave, but I know it's good for me to continue getting out and even doing things that I don't want to do, like staying up until 2 on a Thursday. The weather is making me have wicked allergy attacks, I think just being cooped up in a small space and unsure of the purity of my heater's filter. Nothing I can't deal with. I realized that I'm able to put up with almost anything, and I have been putting up with almost everything for such a long time. I'm ready to nt just put up with things, but enjoy them, and enjoy the company of amazing people.

Weight wise, I fit back into my BCBG dress. It's even a little big. I have 15 more pounds to go. I'm so fucking excited about being back at my high school weight. I can't stand it! Too bad you can't choose what goes away, I've lost a lot of chestline. Whatever, I'm just so glad I'm not fat and comfortable anymore. This is more like me, it makes me feel so much better about myself. I'm thinking of doing a cleanse soon, but I'm not sure if my will power is ready to be tested like that.

From Hell We Must Sail.

  • Everything was going really stupid in my life.
  • Things are no longer stupid, but in fact completely awesome. I'm going to California in 20 days. I get to have In-And-Out burger for the first time! I'm going to wear a bikini in February! I get to see all of the friends I never get to see!
  • I am so happy with the way things are going. I'm working out, I'm eating well, I have a laptop now, I got a new phone, I got a new journal. Trey sold me some comic books that are keeping my attention all too well. I am reading some great books. My friends are amazing, supportive, and always willing to make a fun time.
  • "It's about sharing life experiences, happiness is just a perk."
  • 2012, I'm excited.
Hail to the Queen, baby.
